Recalling past work experiences, looking at colleagues who have graduated from various universities around me, they have gone on different paths after many years, and those who have grown the fastest all have one common trait:
No matter what job you do, you can drive yourself upward with an excellent attitude .
In the article "Designer KASH Capability Map" , I shared a point of view: the stronger the underlying ability of the designer, the greater the development space .
This issue will share with you the first underlying ability - attitude.
1. Attitude is 1, ability is 0
Some time ago, an old colleague expressed his incomprehension to me about one thing: he has worked in the company for three years, and he is one of the best in the department in terms of graduation school, professional ability and design results. However, he was not included in the company's 2019 reserve cadre development list.
I said: "Since the leader Latest Mailing Database arranges this way, there must be his reasons. You can recall the colleagues on the development list, how are their work performances, which ones have you achieved, and which ones have not been achieved before? "
He later said to me: "Many colleagues on the list will not worry about doing a little more unplanned work, nor will they directly Say 'NO' because of a matter that has nothing to do with them, and they will not delay the design draft. Make excuses. I have their professional skills, but my work attitude is not as good as theirs.”
Therefore, when we evaluate ourselves, we may focus on the superficial professional ability, while ignoring an important factor - attitude.
No matter how strong the ability is, it cannot make up for the shortcomings of attitude, because a person's performance depends on how much he is willing to do, not how much he can do .
So, attitude is 1 and ability is 0 . With the premise of attitude "1", the final result can be 100, 1000... Without the premise of attitude "1", even if there is a strong ability, the final result is still 0 .
2. Kindness is more important than cleverness
Kindness is more important than cleverness, and choice is more important than talent. Although being smart is a gift, being kind is a life choice. - Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos speech at the 2010 Princeton University Commencement
Teacher Wu Jun mentioned in his new book "Attitude":
He once recalled with some early Google employees why Google was successful. There are many reasons, but Google has a very unique and key point: don't be evil. This is very rare for a for-profit company.
Saying that Google is not evil, some people think how is it possible.
In fact, those who doubt it because of the darkness in their hearts, do not believe that there is light in the world, and in the end they can't stay in the company, so they have to leave.
It was because of such a group of kind-hearted and righteous people that a small company at that time could have a strong competitiveness.
On the contrary, when many companies have dozens of people, if they are profitable, they will soon fall apart due to infighting, because when they select people, they only focus on ability and not on character.
This is true for a company, and even more so for a person. For anyone, maintaining kindness is more important than success.
It's nice to be great, yet it's great to be nice. Being kind and being mindful is more important than being smart and successful .
3. There is no dress rehearsal for work, only all-out effort
I remember that my first job during my internship was to beautify the PPT, that is, my colleagues would give you a text draft PPT, you need to type, design, and look beautiful and tall. (Now this profession should be called PPT designer)
I think I have learned a little bit of design in college. I used the Smart chart and directory format that comes with PPT, and Baidu took a few pictures that looked tall and high. After three plus five and two typesetting, I quickly changed it. one serving.
